General FAQ
Where are Hondo Garage Products Made?
Every Hondo product is designed, machined, and assembled in our shop in Manhattan, Montana—proudly made in the USA.
It’s where people, robots, and CNC machines work side by side (usually surrounded by motorcycles) to build the most trustworthy off-road mounting gear out there.
Where do you ship?
Pretty much everywhere on Earth. If there’s not a legal or geopolitical reason stopping us, we’ll ship it.
If you’re in a tricky spot or don’t see your country at checkout, shoot us an email—we’ll do our best to make it happen.
Is your warranty too good to be true?
Nope—it’s just that good. It starts with how we design and test every product ourselves. We believe in making gear that lasts a lifetime and performs just as well on year five as it did on day one.
That said, we’ll always try to rebuild before we replace—because all of our products are engineered to be fully serviceable. If you know what you need, you can grab most replacement parts on our site at cost and fix it yourself.
Not sure what’s wrong? No problem. We’re happy to help you diagnose the issue or even rebuild it for you. Either way, we’ve got your back and we’ll get you back on the trail.
What if my Bike or Vehicle isn't supported, or I'm not sure?
Reach out—we’d love to hear about your setup. We might already be working on a mount for it, or we’ll add it to our development list.
Our long-term goal is to be your go-to garage for smart, bombproof mounting solutions across all vehicles. Hearing from riders like you helps us get there faster.
Isn't this phone mount a little expensive?
Totally fair question. We design our products for lifetime performance—not just to survive your next ride, but every ride after that. That means we prioritize function and durability over cutting corners to hit a price point.
We use high-end materials like machined aluminum instead of plastic, because we’re mounting high-performance devices (like phones, GPS units, or tablets) to high-performance machines (like motorcycles, trucks, and UTVs).
Sometimes that means more complex engineering or more expensive components—but it also means fewer broken mounts, fewer replacement parts, and less gear in the landfill. We build things that work really well, and keep working.
Perfect Squeeze Related
How does this thing clamp so well?
It’s engineered like a machine tool vice—because that’s exactly what inspired it.
The core mechanism uses a precision-machined stainless steel lead screw with a fine pitch, converting small turns into high clamping force. That means you get up to 90 lbs of holding power—without relying on springs or detents that wear out over time, like you see in all other phone mounts.
We also engineered the gripper arms with a low deflection profile and vibration-resistant preload, so your phone stays secure even under high-frequency harmonics and G-out hits. No slip. No rattle. No drama.
Does it rattle?
Only if you leave it open without a phone in it.
When the arms are extended and not under tension, you might hear a little movement on rough terrain. The fix is simple: just press the quick-adjust button to slide the arms closed, then give the knob a few clicks to snug everything down. That locks the mechanism and eliminates any play.
Can the mount be locked in with one hand?
Yes, although you need to get it dialed in once to your device, then you're always about 5 thumb screw clicks away from locked in and ready to rumble. Check out this video to see the process.
How heavy is it?
The Perfect Squeeze weighs 134g (4.7 oz), and the Big Squeeze tablet mount comes in at 253g (8.9 oz).
That’s about the same as an aluminum footpeg or a full water bottle cage with bolts. Still lighter than a spare tube.
We machine these from aerospace-grade aluminum and stainless hardware—no plastic, no shortcuts. It's a little more weight, but it buys you peace of mind. No broken mounts, no rattling, no failures when you're deep in the backcountry.
Vibration Isolation
Why is vibration isolation important?
Because modern phones and GPS units weren’t built to live on single-cylinder motorcycles.
Thumpers and other off-road bikes produce high-frequency vibration—especially at certain RPMs. Combine that with the rigid mounting points on your handlebars or dash, and that energy transfers straight into your device. Over time, it can damage sensitive components like image stabilization systems, gyros, or internal solder joints.
That’s why we build vibration isolators like the Buzz-Kill: to absorb and dissipate that energy before it reaches your device. You get better device longevity, more stable screens (no micro-jitter while navigating), and less fatigue from staring at a bouncing display.
It’s not just about protection—it’s about visibility, usability, and making sure your tech actually works when you need it.
So… does it actually work?
Yep. And we’ve got 8+ years of rider feedback to prove it.
Our isolators have been run on everything from dirt-shaking Baja race bikes to long-haul ADV setups, and they've consistently protected phones and GPS units from vibration damage. We've heard from thousands of riders who used to lose camera stabilization or crack internals—and haven’t had a single issue since switching to our setup.
Beyond anecdotal evidence, we’ve also tested these mounts using accelerometers and vibration analysis tools. We've measured real-world frequency ranges and amplitudes from different bikes—especially single-cylinder thumpers—and tuned our isolators to absorb those problem vibrations before they reach your device.
It’s not magic. It’s engineering—and years of refining it with people who actually ride.
